However, within Masonry, most invitations and benefits continue to be extended to a Mason’s wife, not his long time live in girlfriend. Most women during it’s inception were married before they were 21, obviously this is no longer the case. Although the world has changed since then, Masonry has not always changed with it. The five points of the star represent the five heroines of the order: Adah, Ruth, Esther, Martha, and Electa. The Eastern Star ring typically consists of a five-pointed star surrounded by a pentagon and the letters "OES". The Order of the Eastern Star ring is a type of Masonic ring worn by members of the Order of the Eastern Star. What is an Order of the Eastern Star Ring Women now leading Eastern Star organizations can trace their lineage back all the way to its founding couples in 1850s America – proving how resilient this organization has been throughout history. ![]() These rituals have developed over time in response to changes within society but continue to honor its similar themes surrounding justice, truth, and tolerance. It also evolved into an organic youth organization complete with its own set of symbolic rituals. Since then, the Order of the Eastern Star has grown exponentially with more than 1 million members across dozens of countries worldwide. Women who met certain criteria were allowed to join and could petition for admission if they belonged to a Master Mason-the highest degree among Masons-or their family. The organization soon spread throughout North America and eventually around the world. Kennedy and Robert Morris founded the Order of the Eastern Star as a female counterpart to Freemasonry. Established in 1850, it's a long-standing organization that has been part of the fabric of American history for nearly 170 years.
